PUBG is not coming soon in India, Declares Indian Government

The highly anticipated game of the season “PUBG Mobile India” is not coming to India anytime soon. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) is responding via an RTI regarding the release of PUBG Mobile India.

The RTI was filed on November 30, 2022 and received a response from the Central Public Information on December 11, 2022 that “MEITY has not authorized the launch of PUBG”.

With this answer, it is now clear that it is not possible to relaunch PUBG in India without the permission of the Indian government. E-sports entity GEM ESPORTS shared this information in an Instagram post in which the Government of India responds to the query field via RTI.

In the search field it said:

Dear Sir/Mom

In the month of September 2022, Government of India in consultation with your Ministry (MEITY) has banned several Chinese apps. One of these was the Pubg Mobile Game. Now there is a lot of news that says that the game will be relaunched and the same has been made especially for the Indian public and will not be harmful to the nation and its citizens. I would like to know if your department has authorized the game so that it can be relaunched.”

Now it is clear that PUBG fans will have to wait for more until the ministry has cleared the relaunch of the PUBG in India.
